fjordparken housing
The scheme is an experimental building project under the auspices of PPU ( Proces and product development in the building trade) and was built as part of the Casa Nova project with Tegnestuen Vandkunsten as an ad hoc partner. The client are two cooperative housing associations - one private and the other public - participating with fifty units each.
A common feature of both groups is that they were designed with shifts in the plans that give all the units a floor-to-ceiling corner window toward Limfjorden. The public housing group is located in the northern angle with a large common house at the highest point and with a housing program differentiated in two, three and four-room apartments, which are equipped with large balconies.
The scheme was built as three-story, balcony-corridor buildings with a timber construction sides with fire-resistant Thermowood and interior walls of plasterboard. The elevator towers and balcony decks are of concrete, and the balconies are supported by a column/beam system Azobe.
