egebakken - senior co-housing


The scheme consists of 29 units and a common house and lies on a modest north slope running toward the edge of Grib Skov forest. The client was a senior group of singles and couples without children living at home.

The Housing scheme is built as a single-story connected houses organized in four linear rows, which form green wedges toward the forest. The project was designed under a great influence from the individual occupants and even though there are only three main housing types at ca 90, 120 and 145 sqm, there are actually 29 different units, which were developed on the basis of a fixed concept with identical basic units and a variety of possible additions.

The basic unit is of dark grey petersen brick and contains a heigh-ceilinged living room with a kitchen and a possible spare room. The addition have dark board siding and there are three main types that can house bedrooms and a variety of supplementary rooms.

The roofs are covered with zink.
