aeblelunden - low-cost housing

In this project a primary aim was to create a housing concept that could be sold at a lower cost than the prevailing market prices. Thus the project was optimized and simplified on all levels and the expression was inspired by the good quality housing from the 1940's and 59's, where the goal was to build inexpensively for ordinary people.

Most of the apartments are 85 sqm in size and are offered in five different degrees of furnishing and completion, where the most inexpensive ones offer an extreme degree of user freedom where all the surfaces and partitions are the user's responsibility. At the other end of the scale, the appartments are completely finished and ready to occupy with the maximum number of rooms.

The facade consist of high-insulated sandwich elements with integrated charcoal grey tile in parts of the element. The windows and doors are placed alternately in the element and the space between them, and the balconies are placed in a shifting pattern so they partially overlap each other.
